(Underwoodisaurus milii)
Background:
Thick tailed geckos were the first geckos I ever got. They are fairly basic to keep and breed. They are a fairly common gecko in captivity and very popular because they cant climb smooth surfaces. I.E glass or plastic.
Size:
Adults are around 15cm with their tail
Housing:
I keep adult trios (1 male, 2 female) in three foot tanks (90cm). I use sand as a substrate I have a heat mate at one end. 1 hide over the heat mat and 1 hide at the other end of the tank. and a plastic container of peat moss in the middle.
Diet:
I've been feeding mine woodies for a while but when first purchased would only eat crickets. I slowly weaned them to woodies by cutting some of the woodies legs off so they couldn't move as fast and it worked a treat now they can eat any woodies no legs have to be removed.
