(Pogona Barbata)

Background:

Here are some pics of my Eastern Bearded Dragons. I am currently growing up my 3rd generation of yellow beardies. These guys are well known for being grey/dull and boring but not mine! I have been working on producing some of the best yellows available. The last pic on here is one of the ones I'm growing up atm. In the picture he was only 2 months old. These are more of a "pet" dragon and are more tolerable of handling.

Age:

I'm not certain on how long these guys live as mine are only 6 years old and still going strong. There have been reports of these guys living up to 15 years+

Size:

My adults are about 20cm SVL (Snout To Vent Length) and their tails are about 25cm long giving these dragons a TL (total length) of 45cm. From information given to me from other people my dragons seem to be slightly smaller in length on average. These dragons have a very big distribution so size can vary some being smaller and some being larger.

Housing:

There are a number of different views on what size enclosure is large enough for these dragons. I suggest a minimum of 3x2x2 foot enclosures for a single adult and 4x2x2 foot enclosures for multiple animals. I am currently housing my adult colony in an outdoor in a 2m cube. Juveniles to sub-adults are housed in 3longx 2highx 1wide foot tanks. Hatchlings are small and are housed in 47 litre tubs until larger.

Diet:

However they don't eat vege's as easy as other species if you persist they should eventually. I feed mine mainly Woodies/Roaches dusted with calcium and multivitamins as well as a little bit of carrot.
